We just celebrated Andrew’s 17th “Gotcha Day.” He came to be our son when he was 4-1/2 months old. We’ll never forget the day. He was the first child we adopted, and the miracle of joining hearts with a child who was born across the sea still amazes me. God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that Andrew would fit perfectly into our lives. God has blessed him with many special qualities that I admire. One of them is his ability to see things that I normally miss. We have been encouraging him in photography for this reason.
The way we celebrate “Gotcha Day” is to wish him or her a “Happy Gotcha Day” and then prepare the meal of his choosing for dinner. This year Andrew chose Quick & Delicious Cube Steaks, spaetzles, and broccoli. For dessert . . . Ted’s raspberry chiffon pie.

Wow, it has been 17 years? I remember the day your family brought him home. I remember him as a baby too. Does that mean I’m getting old. I think that is really neat how you celebrate “Gotcha Day” Your family is such an inspiration.
